Chautauqua Proposal: A Guide to Photo Sessions at the Flatirons in Boulder, CO
James reached out ready to propose to Alivia over 4th of July when they were traveling in for a long weekend. He wanted to propose in Chautauqua Park (the Flatirons vista) which can generally get really busy with it’s convenient proximity to downtown Boulder, Colorado.
In order to have some privacy for their proposal they had to get a little off the beaten path. I walked up to a quiet spot away from the parking area about 1/2 mile up a trail and dropped a quick pin to James. Hiding my cameras in the trees I pretended to be waiting to use a bathroom as he approached and walked casually past me down the trail I told him to go to. Grabbing my camera I dropped down the trail just as James dropped on one knee and asked Alivia to marry him.
After realizing that I captured the moment we had a session in the park as the sun was setting.
