Gorham New Hampshire Adventure Elopement

Can you imagine moving 1,000 miles from home, going on vacation, planning an elopement, eloping, and starting a new job all within a month? That’s just what Ashley and Akram decided to do when they started planning their adventure elopement in New Hampshire. At first they were thinking Connecticut where the couple was settling into new jobs together, then I showed them what New Hampshire was about and they couldn’t resist the entrancing beauty of the White Mountains. Frankly, who can? These mountains inspired poets and writers for centuries.

Ashley and Akram knew they wanted their elopement to be simple and just the two of them, but with an edge of adventure that they craved. They chose a peak in a secluded and private part of the mountains near Gorham and just above Pinkham Notch for their white mountain elopement.

The day started like so many elopements with getting ready at a quiet AirBnb in the forest. The details we managed to rummage together in just a few short weeks from all of the best White Mountain vendors were out of this world beautiful. They put thought and intention into their day. Simple doesn’t have to mean lackluster. Sometimes simplicity is truly just paying attention to only the things which add value to your elopement.

After a first look on the property we went to one of my favorite waterfalls just north of their AirBnb in Pinkham Notch. Glen Ellis Falls can be very busy during certain times of the year and on weekends, but the end of summer weekdays usually yields a quiet and private viewing of the waterfall for most couples I take there.

The hike to their ceremony came next as the sun started setting and the temperatures cooled way down (thankfully). Pine Mountain is a moderate and peaceful hike. It’s long enough to enjoy, but easy enough to not be exhausted from. We found a spot near the summit where the couple said their vows while looking onto the neighboring northern presidential peaks. I started in awe of the alpenglow turning the foliage orange and eventually a deep pink hue. We hiked under the stars, back to the trailhead with a feeling of pure contentment in our hearts.
